Corrosion – The Bane of Metal Products
Corrosion is present to some degree in all industrial applications. It can be caused by many sources – H2S, HCl, CO2, SO2, or salt, for example. A major contributor to metal fatigue and ultimate failure, corrosion hampers production, causes unplanned downtime for repair or replacement, destroys capital and operating equipment, poses serious problems for operating personnel and negatively impacts the bottom line. DuraSeal coatings have proven to be the answer to combating this harmful condition, allowing pipe to last as much as 20 times longer than with chemical treatment in downhole corrosive environments.
Our Application Process
DuraSeal’s proprietary chemical preparation process and application technique is conducted in our modern, purpose-fit manufacturing facility. The preparation involves reactive nanosized silicon particles suspended in a liquid medium. When applied to a metal surface, especially a ferrous material, the particles migrate into the pores. When cured, DuraSeal forms a impregnable covalent bond with the metal. Our repeatable preparation, application and curing procedures meet applicable API, ASTM, NACE and other industry standards and are continually scrutinized for improvement.
